From Soldier to Advocate
I’m Michael McGill, and my journey from military service to community advocacy has been driven by a deep-rooted commitment to serving our great state of Mississippi. My time in the Army instilled in me the values of duty, resilience, and leadership—principles that I now apply to protecting and enhancing our coastal communities.
Today, I work hand in hand with local, county, and state officials to support policies that safeguard our natural resources and preserve the traditions of our seafood industry. Passionate about sustainable practices and the legacy of small-scale fishermen, I strive to ensure that our coastal heritage thrives for generations to come.
As I pursue my Master’s Degree in Public Government and continue to engage with community leaders, my mission remains clear: to empower our communities, promote sustainable development, and uphold the values of service and integrity that have guided my journey.

From preserving our seafood industry and investing in quality education, to defending our environment, supporting our National Guard, and advancing human rights, I am committed to building a stronger, fairer future for all. Guided by the belief that “If you have the ability to respond, then it’s your responsibility,” I will work every day to ensure that every Mississippian has a voice—and that no one is left behind.
