Human Trafficking

Human Trafficking

Mississippi ranks 10th among the worst states for human trafficking in the U.S. This grave issue impacts our communities, and as a committed public servant, I am determined to combat this horrific crime in our state. I have seen firsthand the devastating effects it has on victims and their families, and it’s our responsibility to take a strong stance against it. The majority of cases in Mississippi involve young women under 18, with a significant focus on homeless individuals who have recently aged out of foster care or the juvenile justice system. Human trafficking is a rapidly growing crime that touches every corner of Mississippi, and we must work together to stop it.

• Taking Action

We must provide essential resources and support services for survivors. This includes safe housing, medical care, counseling, and job training programs to help them rebuild their lives. Our priority is to ensure that victims receive the care and support they need to recover and thrive.

Together, we can make Mississippi a safer place by ending human trafficking. I invite you to join me in this crucial fight to protect our most vulnerable citizens and ensure a brighter future for all.
