Michael McGill Qualifies in Mississippi’s 4th District

Qualification Requirements

The process of qualification involves a payment of either $2,500 or $5,000, contingent upon the congressional or senate candidacy respectively. To be eligible for the ballot, candidates must meet specific criteria. For House representation, candidates must be at least 25 years old, maintain a minimum of 7 years as a U.S. citizen, and be a current resident of the represented state at the time of the election. Senate candidates need to be 30 years old, have been a U.S. citizen for 9 years, and meet residency requirements without any felony charges.

January marks the acceleration of political activity in South Mississippi, with only 63 days remaining until the Primary election between McGill and the incumbent Mike Ezell. Ezell, a first-term congressman, secured victory over Steven Palazzo, who had held office for over 15 years.
